Giant Pressure‐Induced Spectral Shift in Cyan‐Emitting Eu <sup>2+</sup> ‐Activated Sr <sub>8</sub> Si <sub>4</sub> O <sub>12</sub> Cl <sub>8</sub> Microspheres for Ultrasensitive Visual Manometry

To address the unsatisfactory pressure sensitivity of luminescent manometers, Eu2+-activated supersensitive microspheres operating in visible range are developed. A series Eu2+-doped Sr8Si4O12Cl8 materials synthesized as microspheres, and their structural spectroscopic properties studied theoretically experimentally. Excited at 350 nm, samples emit a bright cyan luminescence ambient conditions that, upon pressure, changes to green emission finally yellow light above 7 GPa. Most importantly, huge red-shift band from 497.3 568.8 nm is observed increases, leading an ultrahigh-pressure 9.69 nm/GPa, which highest ever reported. The designed with polychromatic emissions high-pressure suitable for visual optical sensing, applied strategy provides some important guidelines development new allowing monitoring unprecedented accuracy.
